Job Brief

The Pricebook Inventory Rebuyer is responsible for the management and maintenance of the SAP price book for the retail store group.  The system is designed to maintain consistent and accurate product data including descriptions, costs, retails, UPCs, vendor information, promotional pricing and time frames, forecast and replenishment parameters, etcetera for 200+ locations.   

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Reviews retails and costs to ensure that the margin expectations are being met
  2. Initial point of contact for all category questions
  3. Replenishment parameters settings for products
  4. Accounts Payable Liaison
  5. Category management support, core product maintenance, product additions and deletions, corporate report development and distribution, interfacing with both internal and external databases such as BW, and  Grocery Wholesaler’s Quasar system
  6. Supports team with financial reports
  7. Coordinates the interface between SAP Retail and external databases and EDI information
  8. First line of Store General Manager interface with the Retail Group
  9. Reduce ORD Inventory or reduce average months on hand
  10. Maintain ORD warehouse fill rate at 99%
  11. As a team the ORD buyers write approximately five hundred PO’s per month
  12. Submit one off order (construction, sites, HQ, etc.)
  13. Complete all EOM PO evaluation
  14. Complete all ORD article set up in SAP
  15. Follow up on all PO’s over fifteen days old
  16. Submit all store marketing promotional PO’s
  17. Work with various business units on their inventory needs
  18. Finds ways to discover savings/value opportunities
  19. Communicate with all internal and external customers professionally
  20. Maintain the interests of the company first with any negotiation or purchase
  21. Understand the product life cycle of all items that are purchased
  22. Work with category managers on import orders
  23. Assist other ORD buyers and perform special projects as assigned


  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or 4-6 years field experience in purchasing area with responsibility for negotiation and supplier management
  2. Strong communication and analytical skills required
  3. 2+ years’ experience in position requiring expertise in negotiating and purchasing
  4. Proven self-starter works with little or no supervision
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  6. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, required
  7. Experience with SAP Retail preferred
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  9. Critical thinking skills to interpret information and accurately
  10. Ability to manage multiple complex assignments
  11. Detail oriented with problem solving skills
  12. SAP knowledge would be a plus
  13. Able to travel 5% – 10%
