Job Brief

The Sales Development Representatives role is to seek new business opportunities by researching, contacting and qualifying potential customers, selling TravelCenters of America’s programs, targeting fuel sales and Truck Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains and grows new business in assigned territory by understanding customer needs and determine how TA products and services meet those needs
  2. Maintains customer database and robust pipeline by qualifying leads as sales opportunities and documenting everything in Salesforce
  3. Researches companies and contact potential customers through cold calls and emails
  4. Works closely with Billing, Customer Service, Credit, Field Operations and Truck Service to resolve customer issues
  5. Represents TA at Trade Shows and Company sponsored seminars, meetings and training programs
  6. Reports to the Director of Inside Sales on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) results
  7. Stays up-to-date with new products/services and plans

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  2. Two or more years of Sales/Customer Service experience required
  3. Must have strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  4. Sales results-driven   
  5. Proven work experience in B2B Sales, Inside Sales, Call center, or similar role
  6. Previous experience developing leads and meeting sales quotas
  7. Able to clearly present our company to potential customers and touch on all our products/services
  8. Excellent computer and technical skills and familiarity with MS Excel
  9. Hands-on experience with sales techniques including cold calls
  10. Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  11. Understanding of Sales performance metrics
  12. Able to function independently, as well as working effectively in a team environment
  13. Able to effectively communicate with levels of personnel within your customer base including Senior Level Management decision makers
