Job Description

The Enterprise Architect I performs core technology architecture functions for the enterprise. This role works across technology and business teams to align and focus current and future investments to maximize enterprise productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Enterprise Architect I will identify and document existing business capabilities along with gaps.  The Enterprise Architect I will document solutions utilized for business capabilities and help determine ways to consolidate overlapping solutions to standard on a core set of technologies and platforms.

This role helps the team build both business capability and technology roadmaps to provide a clear picture to the organization of a short- and long-term technology strategy.  These living roadmaps are a critical EA deliverable used at all levels of the organization.

The Enterprise Architect I will work with Solution Architects, development team leaders, and project team leaders to provide architectural guidance.  This guidance will ensure their projects are successful and will continue to incrementally re-enforce capability and technology roadmaps.

This role will assist the technology team in adopting newer technologies to increase capabilities while reducing complexities and overall costs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with IT leaders, architects, and technical specialists for the purpose of advancing proposed architectural solutions.
• Utilize a general understanding of the competitive landscape and corporate and business unit strategies to provide context for architectural decision making.
• Monitor implementation activity to ensure architecture and design principles are upheld.
• Provide architectural thought leadership and expertise.
• Provide guidance on the direction of technologies; able to speak to and defend positions to both technical and non-technical teams
• Stay focused on identified priorities
• Make decisions in situations of ambiguity and the absence of complete facts
• Handle trade-off analysis holistically and across strategic; tactical; business, delivery; long term/short term etc.

Qualifications

1. Undergraduate degree in computer information technology, computer science, or related degree, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following categories:
   1. Enterprise architect
   2. Solution architect
   3. Technology architect; Preferably SAP or Salesforce technologies
   4. Software development team leader with a proven ability to implement cross stack solutions
   5. SME level hybrid cloud design
   6. Networking and Infrastructure technologies
3. Understand and maintain enterprise system, application, and role modeling.
4. Interpret strategic business planning, identify and align technologies to support those initiatives.
5. Professional certifications preferred.
6. Clearly communicate complex concepts to both a technical and business audiences.
7. Present ideas to all levels of management.
8. Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
9. Proven leadership skills to support enterprise initiatives.
10. Work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision (i.e. self-motivated and willing to stretch to meet important deadlines).
11. Work successfully in a cross-functional team environment.

Working Conditions

Schedule is typical workday but may include infrequent after hour support.  In this role, the employee is continuously sitting and typing, frequently talking and using eye and hand coordination and may also be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Standing, walking, bending over, and repetitive use of legs are done occasionally.  All performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
